Former UWOFA president elected OCUFA treasurer

Ann Bigelow, past president of UWOFA, has been elected treasurer of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA).

Bigelow is a lecturer in the DAN Department of Management and Organizational Studies who served as UWOFA president in 2016-2017. She will begin a one-year term as OCUFA treasurer on July 1.

"OCUFA provides support to Faculty Associations across the province, and has been very strong in advocating for contract faculty," Bigelow said. "The issue of contract faculty is one I feel strongly about as it affects me personally. I look forward to being a part of OCUFA's advocacy work for all Ontario faculty members."

Bigelow became the first contract faculty member to serve as president of UWOFA. Her dedication to protecting the university's core mission and advancing the professional interests of faculty members runs deep; she has served as UWOFA treasurer, CAUT Defense Fund trustee, and has been a member of five UWOFA negotiating teams. She also sat on the following UWOFA committees: Executive, Policy and Governance, Committee for Contract Faculty, Pension and Benefits, and Policy and Governance.
