About Luke

Luke Arnott holds a BA in History and Classics from McGill University, and an MA in Comparative Literature and a PhD in Media Studies from the University of Western Ontario.

Luke is a Limited-Duties Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies, where he teaches a number of courses on video games, media industries, critical theory, and popular culture. A member of UWOFA for the past four years, he has served on the Committee for Contract Faculty since 2016. In 2017-2018, Luke also chaired the Limited Duties Affairs Committee in FIMS.

Luke's research is focused on genre theory and the epic, specifically its manifestation in new narrative contexts in media such as video games and comic books. Luke has been published in a wide range of scholarly journals, including Games and Culture and Comparative Literature, and is a contributor to the upcoming anthology Beyond the Sea: Navigating Bioshock from McGill-Queen’s University Press.
