About Dan

A loving husband and parent of one child, recently admitted to St. Francis Xavier University, Dan has been an active participant and strong supporter of UWOFA as a member of the Board of Directors, chair of the Pension and Benefits Committee and participant of the 2010 and 2014 faculty negotiating teams.

Dan believes strongly in engagement and has been a member of several community organizations including the Board of Directors for Whitehills Childcare Association (since 2001), a member of St. Paul Catholic Elementary School Parent Council (2004-2013), and, most recently (2015), selected as the inaugural chair for the Patient and Family Advisory Council for the London Health Science Centre's Emergency Departments.

As a recent teaching fellow at Western, Dan believes strongly in a robust, participatory education and applies this philosophy to large classroom teaching where he is a passionate teacher of human anatomy. Dan is also the director of the School of Health Studies.

Dan's personal hobbies include vacations with his family, enjoying the backyard in the summertime and playing baseball, having assisted with coaching his son's ball team over the years.
