About Beth

I have been a faculty member in Biology since 2004, and teach evolution to about 1,500 first-year biology students each year. My research focuses on migratory songbirds and their susceptibility to new infectious diseases associated with a changing climate. When I'm not in lecture or catching birds in the field, I enjoy playing blues piano with my kids, bowling with my grad students, playing fetch with my dogs, or taking in a musical or rock opera.
