Local Union Stewards

UWOFA stewards in each local unit are expected to monitor what happens in their unit to insure that the Collective Agreement is being observed and to bring possible violations of that Agreement to the attention of the Grievance Officer, Bryce Traister. The Board member representing your faculty is the chief steward for your faculty and performs a similar role at the faculty level. UWOFA stewards are also responsible for disseminating information about the Collective Agreement sent out from the UWOFA office and can serve as your Academic Colleague, if you wish, when you meet with an administrator (such as a chair or dean). If more than one person volunteers to be the steward for a unit, UWOFA will arrange for an election. If your unit is currently without a steward (see the list below), and you would be willing to volunteer, please contact the President.
